The Sea House is a large modern 5 bedroom holiday home with a wonderful coastal setting just outside the popular beach and golf resort of Dunfanaghy in North West Donegal. Situated at the start of the dramatic Horn Head Scenic Drive this top class self-catering establishment enjoys panoramic views over Dunfanaghy Bay towards Killahoey Blue Flag Beach, Muckish Mountain and Dunfanaghy village itself.
The holiday home has a bright and spacious open plan ground floor with large windows to take full advantage of its seaside setting. There is also a large conservatory with a high vaulted ceiling and a children's room with sofa bed an tv. Two of the five bedrooms are ensuite and there is also a bathroom with bath and separate shower.
To the front of the house, there is a large enclosed garden. There is also a furnished patio area and a shed for storing golf bags, bicycles etc.
From the front door, it is just 1.7km into the centre of Dunfanaghy. Dunfanaghy is now one of the premier tourist destinations in Co Donegal. In addition to its Blue Flag Beach and fine 18 hole links golf course, the village is well served with tourist amenities - shops, cafes, restaurants, art galleries, craft shops and lively pubs.
There are several watersports activity centers based in Dunfanaghy as well as an equestrian centre.
Just a short drive beyond Dunfanaghy there are a number of other holiday centers. Portnablagh has a small beach and a quaint harbour. There is a fine beach at Marble Hill as well as the Shandon Hotel. Just beyond Marble Hill is the wonderful Ards Forest Park and Ards Friary featuring woodland trails, coastal footpaths and several secluded sandy coves.
The scenery on the coastal road around the Horn Head peninsula is truly dramatic and probably best appreciated by walking or cycling. The totally unspoiled Tramore Strand is on the southwestern end of Horn Head and is perfect for long bracing walks
Horn Head is also a Special Area of Conservation in recognition of the important habitats locally such as quartzite cliffs, dunes and the salty New Lake area. This varied landscape makes it attractive to birdwatchers, photographers and artists alike.
The Sea House is also an ideal base to tour the Wild Atlantic Way in North West Donegal. All along the coastline from the Rosguill Peninsula to the ruggedly beautiful Gweedore coastline, there are numerous headlands, rocky outcrops, sandy coves, offshore islands, small harbours and some of the finest beaches in Ireland. At Magheroarty pier there are ferry services to both Tory and Inishbofin Islands.
The Sea House has a bright and spacious open plan ground floor with panoramic views of the coastline around Dunfanaghy.
The stylish modern kitchen has a tiled floor. Appliances available include double oven with gas hobs, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer.
A separate utility houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and an iron and ironing board.
The dining area has a large window offering beautiful views over Dunfanaghy Bay. The area has a wood floor and also features an open fireplace.
The living space in the open plan ground floor also enjoys panormic views of the sea and beach at Dunfanaghy. It is comfortably furnished and has a tv as well as a computer games console.
The holiday home has the added advantage of a childrens room with pull out sofa bed and TV
Like all room to the front of the house the spacious conservatory area enjoys lovely sea views.
