Brooke Cottage - Dunfanaghy

Brooke Cottage is a delightful holiday home located near the popular seaside village of Dunfanaghy in North Donegal. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty with stunning beaches and superb coastal and mountain scenery.

The self -catering holiday home sleep 10 people comfortably and is furnished beautifully to a very high standard throughout. It is ideal for large families and friends as it provides plenty of bedrooms and lots of space. There are 2 separate living rooms both with television and a large kitchen dining area. The garden is beautifully landscaped, with a large lawn surrounded with mature trees and flowers. A little brooke runs along the bottom of the garden, altogether creating a very tranquil setting.

A very attractive feature of the holiday cottage is the summer house located in the gardens. It has a large patio/decking area with inside/outside patio furniture and a sheltered sun terrace at the back. The Summer House is perfect for garden dining in the lovely summer evenings or for relaxing, reading a book, painting or writing.

Dunfanaghy - A Popular Family Seaside Resort

Dunfanaghy is a fantastic holiday village by the sea with amazing golden sandy beaches dotted around. Killahoey Beach is 1 minute walk from Dunfanaghy, Marble Hill Beach is only a 10 minute drive and Tramore Beach is worth the 30 minute walk across the dunes. The village has everything to offer including Dunfanaghy Golf Course, craft shops, art galleries, surf shops, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. There are kids activities at The Workhouse and Jaws Surf Shop has a kids club every morning. The stables in the village offer horse-riding for all ages and abilities during the holiday season. Don't miss the Dunfanaghy Jazz and Blues Festival in September.

Glenveagh National Park

Glenveagh National Park and Glenveagh Castle are a brilliant day out for all the family. During the summer they have Birds of Prey displays and Irish dancing at the castle. Dunlewey Lakeside Centre has storytelling boat trips and an animal farm. Ards Forest Park has a childrens play park beside the beach and it is a great place for children to cycle. The stables in the village offer horse-riding for all ages and abilities every day in the summer.

• Take a stroll along the beautiful unspoilt sandy beaches:  Killahoey, Tramore, Marble Hill, Ards and take in the fresh air.
• Keen golfers can enjoy golf at Dunfanaghy Golf Club - an 18 hole links course – open all year round due to the sandy terrain - one of the best golf links in Ireland.
• Enjoy a trip round the spectacular Horn Head drive with dramatic scenery and rugged coastline.
• Dine at Dunfanaghy fabulous restaurants including the award winning Mill Restaurant overlooking the New Lake.
• Take a leisurely walk or cycle round the quiet country roads, and take in all the spectacular views.   
• Browse round the local shops, art galleries and craft shops.   
• Book in to the New Luxury Spa Wellness Centre at the Shandon Hotel       
• Climb Muckish Mountain – It is one of the highest mountains in Donegal.
• Visit the Dunfanaghy Workhouse Exhibition.

• Go fishing – Boat Hire -  there are an abundance of beautiful lakes where you can go fishing including Purt Lough, Sessiagh Lake and New Lake  (permits available)   See the wild life geese and swans on New Lake
• Take a boat trip to Tory Island or Arranmore Island.
• Visit Ards Forest Park, excellent for beautiful forest and coastal walks.  There is also a children’s play park, beach café and bird sanctuary,  a fabulous beach and is a great place for children to enjoy.
• Take a day trip and visit Glenveagh National Park, browse round the art galleries, craft shops and gardens, which contain the largest red deer and golden population in Europe.

Living Space

  Main Living Room

An attractive feature of the holiday home is the presence of two separate living spaces. The main living room is tastefully decorated and furnished and has an open fireplace. Both living rooms have a tv with satellite freeview and a dvd player.

  Second Living Room

The second living room is comfortably furnished and features an old style range. A library of books and dvds is also available

  Kitchen and Dining Area

The bright kitchen and dining area in the cottage features cream coloured fitted units and a slated tiled floor. A full range of kitchen appliances is available including double fan oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. The dining area has a table and 6 chairs - extra seating is available if required.

There is a separate utility room with a washing machine.

  Summer House

A unique feature of the holiday home is the delightful Summer House in the garden. It has a large decking area with inside and outside patio furniture and a sheltered sun terrace at the back. The Summer House is fully equipped and is perfect for entertaining and relaxing.

Please note Summer House is available for Easter, July and August holidays only.

The Summer House is unavailable for weekend stay.

Booking deposit (non-refundable) of 100 euro/£100 per week - with balance to be paid six weeks prior to the letting period. check in 3pm, check out 10am rental Sat – Sat except by special arrangement.
