Woodhill, Sessiagh Lake - Dunfanaghy

Woodhill is a modern 4 bedroom holiday home with a beautiful lakeside setting close to the popular holiday resorts of Dunfanaghy and Portnablagh in North Donegal. This well appointed self catering accommodation is yards from the shores of Sessiagh Lake and also just 1km from the shores of Sheephaven Bay. Within a few minutes drive there are numerous top class beaches as well as Dunfanaghy Golf Club, Ards Forest Park and the dramatic Horn Head Peninsula.

Beautiful Lakeside Setting

Woodhill has a bright open plan area on the ground floor that takes full advantage of the lovely lake views outside. There is a stylish modern kitchen with adjacent dining area. The comfortably furnished living area has an open fireplace. A glass door leads out to a furnished decking area and garden that sweeps down to the lake shore. The holiday home has 4 double bedrooms to sleep 8 comfortably. There is one ensuite shower and 2 other shower rooms – one on each floor.

Dunfanaghy and Portnablagh

From Woodhills tranquil lakeside setting it is a leisurely walk or short drive into the vibrant coastal resorts of Dunfanaghy and Portnablagh. Here you will find a great variety of cafes, restaurants, art galleries, craft shops and pubs. There are 2 fine hotels in the locality – Arnolds in Dunfanaghy and the Shandon in nearby Marble Hill. Arnolds has a renowned pony trekking stables while the Shandon has a modern spa.

Beaches Galore

The beaches in the immediate area are also top class. There is small sheltered beach in Portnablagh which is popular for sailing and boating. The wonderful Blue Flag Beach in Dunfanaghy is great for walking, swimming and water sports of all kinds. Marble Hill Strand is also popular with water sports enthusiasts while the totally unspoilt Tramore Strand is perfect for a bracing walk. There are also a number of beaches and sheltered coves at Ards Forest Park and Ards Friary

The Wild Atlantic Way

The holiday home is an ideal base to explore the Wild Atlantic Way in North West Donegal – from the small but ruggedly beautiful Rosguill Peninsula to the dramatic Bloody Foreland and the islands of the Gweedore coastline.

Along the route there are numerous fine beaches and rocky headlands. Some highlights along this coastline include Doe Castle, Ards Forest Park and Ards Coastal Footpath, the dramatic Horn Head Peninsula and the superb beaches at Falcarragh (Drumnatinney) and at Magheraroarty (Dooey). Magheraroarty Pier is the base for ferries to Tory Island and Inishbofin.
