Lakeview Cottage is located a few minutes walk from the heart of Dunfanaghy village and all its amenities: hotel, restaurants, pubs, convenience stores, craft and jewellery shops, art galleries and water sports shops. 

Local Area

As the name suggests, the holiday home is just a short distance from the shores of New Lake. The Blue Flag golden Killahoey Beach, the shores of Sheephaven Bay and Dunfanaghy Golf Links are a short stroll away.  Portnablagh Harbour, Ards Forest Park and the spectacular scenic Horn Head drive are a short distance away by car. The secluded and beautiful Tramore Strand is a wonderful walk through the dunes at Horn Head bridge.

North West Donegal

The equally splendid beaches of Marble Hill, Falcarragh and Ards are a brief drive away, and all are excellent for both family and avid water sports enthusiasts alike – sea kayaking, wind surfing and diving being very popular in the region. Close by are The Poison Glen, Dunlewey Lakelands and the surfers haven of Magheraroarty Strand renowned for its year round quality surf.

Lakeview Cottage is the ideal base for your family holiday in Donegal. It is located just one hour from Derry Airport and two and a half hours from Belfast. Attractions in the wider region around Dunfanaghy include Glenveagh National Park, Tory Island, The Dunlewey Centre and Errigal and Muckish Mountains.

Hill Walking

These mountains are excellent climbs for both novice and experienced hill walkers and offer breath taking views. There are also excellent horse riding and golf courses in the region. This unspoilt region of beautiful Donegal boasts some of the best game and sea angling available in Ireland. A holiday destination that truly has something for everyone.

The holiday home has an open plan ground floor. The living area features  two large comfortable leather sofas.  An open fire can be easily set in the living room. The holiday home has full unlimited high speed internet, satellite TV with a 42 inch flat screen LED TV, 600 Freeview channels and satellite dish. A DVD library, board games and playing cards are also provided.

The holiday home has a fully-fitted kitchen with the following appliances - electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave. The adjacent dining area has a table and 6 elegant leather dining chairs.

There is a separate utility room with washing machine. A barbecue and rotary airer are available for use by guests in the rear private garden. A picnic set is also available for guests.

Booking deposit (non-refundable) of £150 per week - with balance to be paid six weeks prior to the letting period

  • During peak season - July/ August -all rentals are Saturday - Saturday
  • Minimum stay is three nights - available October - May. Includes Bank Holidays, Jazz & Blues, Festivals (excluding Christmas/New Year and Easter)
  • Maximum stay is two weeks - no long term rentals
  • Refundable damiage deposit payable -£150 per week, this will be returned to you, provided the property is left clean and undamaged
