The house is on the straight between Dunfanaghy and Portnablagh and a short walk takes you to Portnablagh pier. It is a 5 minutes drive to Ards Forest Park, Horn Head drive, and Marble Hill beach. Glenveagh National Park and Errigal mountain are a 20 min drive away. No.5 The Dunes has a prime location close to Dunfanaghy and overlooks the golf course and Killahoey beach.

Localed on Donegals Stunning North West Coastline

The property is located along the coast road between Dunfanaghy and Portnablagh - two vibrant seaside villages. This coast road is part of Irelands Wild Atlantic Way driving route. Dunfanaghy is dotted with a stunning blue flag because and features many fine restaurants and pubs. The holiday home itself is close to three beaches which run for miles.  Falcarragh is located in North West Donegal Gaeltacht. Both villages have golf courses and superb beaches. In  addition there are a host of activities available in this locality including scuba-diving, surfing, fishing and hill walking.

5 The Dunes is situated within minutes travel of some of Donegal and Ireland's greatest attractions, including:-

  • Blue Flag beaches at Killahoey; Marble Hill; Falcarragh; Magheraroarty - all run for at least 1 mile. Many other smaller coves and harbours. 
  • Wide range of activities including Narosa Surf and Dive School; Angling with three trout lakes nearby and the River Ray on our door step. 
  • Gourmet Paradise - award-winning restaurants include The Mill and The Cove, Live music in Arnolds Hotel, Patsy Dans and Mollys Bar. 
  • Superb links golf is available at Dunfanaghy, Rosapenna and Falcarragh
  • Mountain climbing - the cottage is near Errigle the NW's highest peak and is in the foothills of Muckish Mountain and the Seven Sisters mountain chain. 
  • Glenveagh National Park: About twenty minutes drive away from the cottage this magnificent national park is home to herds of red deer and golden eagles.
  • Tory Island: Daily ferry trips to Tory, located 9 miles off the Donegal coast, leave from nearby Magherroarty pier. Although only 4km long and 1 km wide, the island has 2 towns, East Town and West Town.
  • Art Galleries and Crafts include the Art House; Green Door Gallery and Workhorse Gallery as well as Glebe House which tells the story of Derek Hill and the Tory Artists. Textiles include McNutts and Brenda Hewitt Weavers. Painting workshops available nearby. 
  • Dunlewey Lakeside Centre. This centre has lots of different attractions to keep all the family entertained - children's play area, farmyard, family waters boat trips, craft shop, weaving house, audiovisuals, etc
  • Ards Forest Park Located 3km south-east of Dunfanaghy, this wonderful park has marked nature trails, kids play area and is also a wildfowl sanctuary.
  • Gartan Outdoor Pursuits Centre: Situated on the shores of Lough Gartan this is a very popular destination for adventure holiday enthusiasts.
  • Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny  is a superb leisure centre featuring a fitness room, steam room, whirlpool, sauna, plunge pool, kids pool and swimming pool.
  • Donegal County Museum: The Museum houses both permanent and temporary exhibitions including displays from the Stone Age.
  • Letterkenny has a range of family indoor and outdoor activity centres including  Arena 7, Tropical World at Alcorns, Letterkenny Karting Centre and Lurgybrack Open Farm.
