Tullagh Bay Beach House

Tullagh Bay Beach House is located along the Wild Atlantic Way at the northern end of the golden arc of sand that forms Tullagh Strand. This spacious 7-bedroom holiday home enjoys views over the Bay and has large gardens to the front and rear. The beach is just a short walk away. The house is equipped with free wifi to take advantage of the large-screen TV while the kids can enjoy playing on the slide and swing set outside.

Local Beaches

In addition to Tullagh Bay beach to the front of the holiday home - other local beaches include Lenan Bay, Rockstown Harbour and Pollan Beach, which is closer to Ballyliffin. There are many local scenic attractions in the area, and we are not far off the route forming part of the Inishowen 100 scenic drive, with some breathtakingly spectacular views from a pass cutting through the hills known as the Mamore Gap

The picturesque village of Clonmany is only 4km away. On the way there, you will see the Pub known as The Rusty Nail. It is the name of a cocktail but is also reputed to have been named after a flame-haired owner of the 1930s. Stop for a drink, or a meal, with hot, tasty food including many varieties of local seafood. - And you are always guaranteed good craíc.

Glenevin Waterfall.

Closer to Clonmany, do not miss the chance to visit the enchanting Glenevin Waterfall. It is situated in Butlers Glen, but you will have to park your car just off the road, and prepare for a pleasant walk to get there. Perhaps on your return, you may want to stop at Glen House for refreshments, or a snack before resuming your drive.

There are eight pubs in Clonmany, and in nearby Ballyliffin, there are five hotels, as well as catering facilities at the golf club, - so there is a fair choice of local establishments for wining and dining.

Golfers will happy to know that they are only a ten-minute drive away from the famous Ballyliffin Golf Club, with its two links courses.

In the same area, on the Isle of Doagh, a visit to the Famine Village or Doagh Island Visitor Centre is highly recommended.

By travelling south over the Mamore Gap, then turning right west at the bottom of the pass, you will be taken to a beautiful horseshoe bay, called Crummie's bay, with a lovely sheltered sandy beach area. Just a little further is Fort Dunree, where you can visit a museum depicting the early naval defences around the Lough, and view some of the big naval guns still on display after the fort was de-commissioned.

• Doagh Island Famine Village - This outdoor museum tells the story of life in this area in the 1970’s going back to the famine in the 1840’s resident Singers, Musicians and Dancers.
• Glenevin Waterfall - located just outside the village of Clonmany this spectacular waterfall reveals itself after a pleasant walk through the nearby woodland.
• Mamore Gap: Mamore Gap offers panoramic views whether they be of the hills on one side or of the Atlantic Ocean on the other.
• Ballyliffin Golf Club, one of the finest golf links in the northwest of Ireland is just a short drive away.
• The Five Finger Strand: named after the line of five rock pinnacles which you can see jutting out from the headland at the entrance to the Bay.
• Inishowen 100 scenic drive: 100-mile-long signposted touring route around the peninsula and is an opportunity to experience some of Ireland's most breathtaking scenery. Amongst its highlights is Ireland's most northerly mainland point at the wild and rugged Malin Head
• Greencastle Maritime Museum - The Museum is located in the old coastguard station above Greencastle harbour and has a commanding view over one of the premier fishing fleets in Ireland, with superb views over Lough Foyle. It is situated close to the terminal of the Greencastle – Magilligan ferry.
• Fort Dunree Military Museum - Fort Dunree is perched majestically on a rocky outcrop overlooking Lough Swilly. An exhibition covers the history of the Fort, the people who lived there and the events that shaped their lives. Original military equipment is used to tell the story of the Fort.
