This delightful 'Home from Home' is just one mile from Culdaff's spectacular Blue Flag beach, and site within the confines of Culdaff village, with views out to the river estuary and sand dunes beyond. The cottage has five bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a lovely comfortable living space with double doors leading on to a large open plan kitchen and dining area. From there, patio doors lead onto a lovely private garden with an outdoor seating/dining area with barbeque provided.
A five minute walk takes you to the centre of the village for the morning paper and a lovely coffee and tray bake at Cul a Ti. Or get your steps in before breakfast, walking out to the beach along the river estuary and looping back along the footpath into the village, a beautiful 2 mile walk in all. If you're an early bird you'll catch the sun rising over the beach. Spectacular! Or head to Bunagee Pier and see the days catch being landed. Or catch Amazing Grace set sail on her daily dolphin watching excursions. Culdaff is charming. Make sure to pop into the local pubs for a bit of craic. McGuinness' Bar and The Culdaff Arms offer live music throughout summer. McGrorys, established in 1924, is a family run pub/restaurant, serving great food, and hosts traditional Irish music sessions a couple of times a week in summer, or catch a live band in the Backroom. Look out for Jenny's Pop Up bakery during summer, the cupcakes are 'yummy'!
Culdaff lies in the northern part of the Inishowen peninsula, - a unique, scenic microcosm of all that Ireland has to offer. The Inishowen Peninsula (The Isle of Owen) is bounded by the Atlantic ocean in the north, Lough-Swilly to the west and Lough Foyle in the east, with the historical city of Derry at its south eastern tip. The peninsula is famous for its spectacular scenic drive, the Inishowen 100, recently voted "Ireland's most breathtaking coastal drive". Of the 159 Discovery Points along the Wild Atlantic Way, 39 are in County Donegal. Of these, 10 are situated along the Inishowen Peninsula highlighting the impressive beauty and unique character of the area. Discovery Points inlcude Inch Island, Lisfanon Beach, Dunree Head, Mamore Gap, Pollan Bay, Malin Head, Culdaff, Kinnagoe Bay, Inishowen Head and Magilligan Point Viewpoint.
Other nearby attractions and activities include Grianan of Aileach. Wild Ireland, Inish Adventures, the Wild Alpaca Way, Amazing Grace Yacht Charters, Ballyliffin Golf Club, Greencastle Golf Club and Redcastle Golf Club to name but a few.
In the summer months, travel to West Donegal and/or Nothern Ireland's Causeway Coast is even more accessible with ferry crossings available from Buncrana to Rathmullan across Lough Swilly, and from Greencastle to Magilligan Point across Lough Foyle, both worth doing if just for the spectacular scenery on the way.

Ideal home in ideal location
As you drive up to the property it looks every bit as good and you'd imagined from the descriptions given by the owners. But when you get inside the property it is like stepping into the Tardis! We were a party of 8 adults, 2 children and one infant. Not once did we trip over each other. Yes, we were helped by the glorious weather during the first week of June in Donegal so that we could make good use of the patio furniture and the bench outside the front of the property in the evenings, but the interior of the house is extremely spacious with good sized rooms. The solid wood dining table with 8 chairs spaced around it, and a couple of stools for the children and a high chair meant we could all eat together. The ensuite and main bathroom upstairs and downstairs cloakroom are more than adequate for a large group such as ours was. The back of the house overlooks the meadows to Culdaff beach sand dunes which is a view difficult to tire anyone. A five-minute drive to the north takes you to Bunagee Pier where you can watch the day's catch being landed and drive roughly the same distance to the south and you arrive at the car parks for the beautiful 'Blue Flag' Culdaff Beach itself. The beach sand and dunes are ultra clean and the sea water crystal clear. The gently shelving, sandy beach meant that it was safe enough for the children to play in the water under mild supervision without any fierce under-tow. Culdaff itself has everything a holidaying family would need with local pubs and restaurants, village stores and petrol filling station which also boasts a good take-away. The Inishowen Peninsula is packed with a wide variety of destinations to suit the whole family and of particular note is the Famine Village in Doagh which 'will' surpass your expectations. Malin Head is, of course, a 'must see' destination being the most northerly point of Ireland and only around half an hour from Culdaff. The Giant's Causeway is not too far away either but check that the ferry from Greencastle is running before heading that way or go via Londonderry. In short, the whole area is for us, the jewel in Ireland's crown and staying at Bunagee Cottage was the icing on a very enjoyable 'cake'!
