I did not have to think twice when I read the description of Toame Cottage, in the village of Glen overlooking Glen Loch, on donegalcottageholidays.com; with the references to the quiet setting and peaceful surroundings; the proximity to golf, parks, coastal areas and the wild and rugged Donegal countryside. I was hosting a relative from Canada and wanted to share some of the beauty of our land . The experience did not disappoint. While initially booked for a short visit , twenty four hours later, we extended our stay! Toame Cottage is a wonderfully cosy, traditional , three bedroom stone building renovation, evidently a labour of love for its owners, tastfully decorated and particulary nicely furnished. It is exceptionally well equipped; great attention has been given to all that is necessary for a comfortable stay and it is spotless throughout. The comfortable living area is situated on the second floor, and looks out onto the lake and an attractively planted seculded garden, equipped with garden furniture. Lucky for us , after our days`ramblings, the sunny afternoons and evenings encouraged a stroll along it`s varied level pathways and interesting beds, and the sheltered aspect, made it ideal for outdoor evening sitting. The owners went out of their way to make the booking experience very easy and our stay , a merorable one. We highly recomend this cottage and hope to return for a future visit.
