Teach Phaidí Thomais - Derrybeg

Teach Phaidí Thomáis is a lovely 2 bedroom holiday home located near the coast just north of Derrybeg in the Gweedore region of Co Donegal. On the beautiful coastline around the holiday home you can unwind, walk the beautiful sandy beaches and mountains, go cycling, fishing, golfing or just take a leisurely boat trip to the nearby Gola Island.

Wild Atlantic Way

The holiday home is located along the route of the wild Atlantic Way and is also in the heart of one of the main Gaeltacht regions in Donegal. The Irish Language has survived in this area -  along with much of the traditional Irish culture and music.

The holiday home itself features a cosy open plan area with kitchen dining and living spaces. A large open fireplace provides a warm focal point for this room. There are 2 bedrooms  each with a double and single bed as well as a bathroom. An outside furnished decking area enjoys lovely views towards the Gweedore coastline.

North West Donegal

The holiday home is an ideal base to explore the beautiful coastline of North West Donegal.  Errigal and the Derryveagh mountains are only 15 minutes drive away. The Dunlewey Lakeside Centre is a similar distance by car and boasts an exciting historical display of local crafts, trips on the lake and play facilities for children.

The scenic Gweedore 9-hole Golf Club is only five minutes from door of the holiday cottage and fishing in the local lakes and rivers is a popular activity. There are regular ferrys to Gola Island during the holiday season.

• Golf on nearby Gweedore Golf Club – a challenging 9 hole course.  Other courses in the region include Cloughaneely and Dunfanaghy
• Visit Dunlewey Lakeside Centre - Facilities include restaurant, tea-room, craft shop,  adventure play areas, pets & animals, storytelling, boat trips on Dunlewey Lake, guided tours and weaving demonstrations.
• Find numerous peaceful roads, country lanes and mountaintracks to walk. Slí an Earagail - a Bealach na Gaeltachta Waymark ed Way - covers much of the area around the holiday home
• Fish for salmon on the Clady river
• Take a day trip to Tory Island. The ferry service to Tory Island is available from Magheraroarty several times a day - weather permitting
• Climb Muckish and Errigal. Mount Errigal, the highest mountain in Donegal is a demanding climb and once on the summit you can see for miles around.
•  Visit Glenveagh National Park, with 16,000 hectares of mountains, lakes, wood and bogs. Glenveagh contains the largest red deer population in Europe.  Within the National Park Glenveagh Castle and gardens are well worth a visit on their own
