Teach Mhiley - Dunlewey

Teach Mhiley is a cosy 2 bedroom holiday home located in the foothills of Mount Errigal 4km north of Dunlewey village.  

Teach Mhiley is a tranquil rural base from which to explore some of Donegal's top tourist attractions including Mount Errigal itself, the Dunlewey Lakeside Centre, Glenveagh National Park and the dramatic Wild Atlantic Way in North and North West Donegal.

A Cosy Holiday Cottage

The holiday home has 2 double bedrooms and a shower room. There is a cosy living room with open fireplace. The kitchen is well equipped for a self catering holiday. There are lovely countryside and mountain views around the cottage.

Ideal Touring Base

The majestic Mount Errigal dominates the landscape in this part of Donegal. The cottage is also located between Lough Altan and Loughs Dunlewey and Nacung. To the west of the cottage is the dramatic Gweedore coastline with numerous beaches, coves, small harbours and offshore islands. Along this coastline are two lively Gaeltacht villages – Bunbeg and Derrybeg.

The Wild Atlantic Way

To the north of the cottage lie several more Gaeltacht villages – Gortahork, Magheraroarty and Falcarragh. There are fine beaches at Falcarragh and Magheraroarty and a ferry  to Tory Island operates from Magheraroarty Pier. In the very north west corner of Donegal is the spectacular Bloody Foreland

• Visit Dunlewey Lakeside Centre - Facilities include restaurant, tea-room, craft shop, adventure play areas, pets & animals, storytelling, boat trips on Dunlewey Lake, guided tours and weaving demonstrations.
• Find numerous peaceful roads, country lanes and mountain tracks to walk.  Slí an Earagail - a Bealach na Gaeltachta Waymarked Way - passes close by the holiday cottage.
• Use the holiday home as a base to explore the Wild Atlantic Way in West and North West Donegal
• Relax in the An Chuirt Hotel Leisure Centre
• Climb Muckish and Errigal.  Mount Errigal, the highest mountain in Donegal is a demanding climb and once on the summit you can see for miles around.
• Take a day trip to Tory Island , Inishbofin or Gola Island. The ferry service to Tory Island is available from Bunbeg and Magheraroarty several times a day - weather permitting
• Visit Glenveagh National Park, with 16,000 hectares of mountains, lakes, wood and bogs. Glenveagh contains the largest red deer population in Europe. Within the National Park Glenveagh Castle and gardens are well worth a visit on their own
• Golf on Gweedore Golf Club – a challenging and very scenic 9 hole course.
