Shore Cottage - Rathmullan

Shore Cottage is a lovely 4 bedroom holiday home located just 150 metres from the beautiful Kinnegar Strand on the outskirts of the popular family beach resort of Rathmullan in North Donegal. The cottage is 700 metres from Rathmullan House, Weeping Elm Restaurant and Cellar Bar and is just 1 km from the village centre. It also lies along the route of the Wild Atlantic Way – Ireland's long distance driving route.

A Modern Holiday Home

The cottage has 4 bedrooms to sleep up to 8 people. One bedroom is ensuite and there is a bathroom with bath and separate shower. A bright open plan area has a  comfortably furnished living area and a well equipped kitchen. A lovely conservatory style dining area overlooks the large back lawn. The cottage garage acts as a games room and as a utility.

Two Beaches on your Doorstep

The cottage lies opposite the entrance to the Kinnegar Strand – a sheltered beach that never gets too crowded. At low tide there is direct access to Rathmullan's tree lined beach that leads directly to the village. At the village shore front there is an excellent children's playground as well as a Sailing School and a Paddle Board Centre. Rathmullan pier is popular for fishing while a small attached pontoon is the base for 2 charter boats. These are used for fishing and sightseeing on  Lough Swilly.

Lough Swilly Ferry

Rathmullan is well served  with pubs, cafes, restaurants and antique shops. It has a putting green and a tennis court.  A ferry operates from the pier area to Buncrana providing easy access to the beautiful Inishowen Peninsula.
Shore Cottage is also halfway between Rathmullan House Hotel and Drumhalla House – 2 popular wedding destinations in this part of Donegal.

Golf

The scenic 9 hole Otway Golf Club is 4km away and the superb Portsalon Golf Links is a 25 minute drive. Letterkenny Golf Club is 20 minutes away and Rosapenna Golf Resort is a 30 minute drive.

Wild Atlantic Way

Rathmullan is located along Irelands Wild Atlantic Way and there are some spectacular coastal drives in the region around the village. To the north lies the ruggedly beautiful Fanad Peninsula which has some of the finest beaches in Donegal. At the tip of the Peninsula is the iconic Fanad Head Lighthouse - a Signature Point on the Wild Atlantic Way. The lighthouse is now open to the public during the holiday season.

Shore Cottage has a bright open plan area with living and kitchen spaces. The living area is comfortably furnished and has an open fireplace. It has a lcd tv with selection of Sky channels and RTE. There is also a selection of board games, dvds and cds.

The cottage has a lovely conservatory style dining and sitting area overlooking the rear lawn and has uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. It has a tiled floor and features a contemporary style dining table and 8 chairs. Glass patio doors lead out to the rear lawn.

  Kitchen

The cottage has a stylish modern kitchen with tiled floor. Appliances available include gas hob and electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. A breakfast bar features a number of high stools.

The cottage garage acts as both a utility and games room. It has a washing machine and a number of games - table tennis etc
