This 200-year-old cottage has been loving and expertly restored by the owners during the last few years, every original stone and feature has been carefully preserved and the cottage now boasts its original features combined with everything that is needed to enjoy a luxury retreat in the hills of Donegal - underfloor heating, an eco friendly wood pellet stove, and well equipped new kitchen.

It now has an outdoor entertainment area, with bar, wood pellet stove, 2 large couches, ideal for outdoor gatherings

Glenveagh Holistic Therapies

Glenveagh Holistic Therapies room is also onsite, offering Swedish Massage and Reflexology, which can be requested at time of booking.

It is within easy reach of beautiful beaches and Errigal and Muckish mountains. Glenveagh is on the doorstep..almost.

A beautiful combination of the original stonework and lime plaster, with quirky dressers. New wood pellet stove which gives instant heat for visitors coming home from a long day sightseeing. Underfloor heating throughout providing continuous comfort throughout the home.

Upstairs has 2 lovely private bedrooms with woodland/country views and a beautiful window seat which is perfect to relax and read a book whilst enjoying the heat from the sunshine.  New fully equipped kitchen with all mod cons. Undercounter freezer and washing machine outside in the patio/covered area.

Glenveagh National Park

Glenveagh National Park in the Derryveagh Mountains  is the jewel in the crown of Donegal tourism. This magnificent park lies just to the north of Churchill and contains 14,000 hectares of lakes, mountains, raised bogland and woodland. The golden eagle has been reintroduced into the park in recent years.

Other birds that can be seen include grouse, ravens, redstarts, stonechats and wood warblers. The park has the largest herd of red deer in Ireland and also features foxes, badgers, hares, and stoats. The 19th-century Glenveagh Castle on the shores of Lough Veagh  is open to the public throughout the tourist season.

  • Glenveigh National Park: A 15-minute drive away from the holiday home this magnificent national park is home to herds of red deer and golden eagles
  • Gartan Outdoor Pursuits Centre: Situated on the shores of Loch Gartan this is a very popular destination for adventure holiday enthusiasts.
  • Glebe House and Gallery: This is a Regency house built in 1828 set in woodland and decorated with William Morris textiles, Islamic and Japanese art. The renowned Derek Hill Art Collection is housed here
  • Ards Forest Park:  One of the most beautiful and most varied of Ireland's forest parks. Bays, rivers, loughs, beaches, valleys, viewing points, deer enclosures and historic monuments are woven together by a series of fascinating nature trails
  • Newmills Corn and Flax Mills: Situated on the Glenties Road out of Letterkenny the mills contain the largest working waterwheels in Ireland.
  • Letterkenny Aura Leisure Centre: This excellently equipped leisure centre includes a gym, a health suite, 25-meter pool and learner pool, a kiddie's fun pool and 2 twister adventure water slides
