Situated in a peaceful location on a secure enclosed half acre site, this holiday cottage offers a bit more privacy, yet is convenient to Rathmullan village and the beaches. The spacious cottage accommodates 8 persons comfortably.
Located on Kinnegar Road between the Fort Royal and Rathmullan House hotels, and close to the amenities in Rathmullan. The town is well provided for, with four pubs, two top class restaurants, coffee shop and newly opened café. The 3km of beach stretches from the pier in Rathmullan to Kinnegar cove. It is popular with walkers and water sport enthusiasts and unusually for an Irish beach, is tree lined for most of its length.
The nearby golf club, Otway, is the second oldest course in Ireland - no tee-time required and its 9 holes offer a challenging round of golf. The Portsalon Golf Club is just a 20 minute drive north, along the spectacular Knockalla Coast Road.
The Golden Sands Equestrian Centre is located in Rathmullan, where one can take the opportunity for horse or pony rides, on the beach, or along the many equestrian trails which surround the village.
The Old Fort (which was built by the British in the early 19th century as a defence against a possible French Invasion during the Napoleonic Wars.), - houses the "Flight Of The Earls Heritage Centre"; - commemorating a significant event that took place in 1607 from Rathmullan, and marking an important time in Irish history. The centre is well worth a visit, and September 2007 marks the 400th anniversary of the event
The spacious kitchen is located to the rear of the house and extends into the conservatory. It is fully fitted on a ceramic tiled floor with modern units and appliances; including a ceramic hob and oven, dishwasher, fridge/ freezer, microwave and essential crockery, cutlery & cookware.
The adjoining utility room has the washing machine and tumble dryer, iron & ironing board. (The ironing board is integrated into the top drawer.) There is a beer fridge for keeping beer and wine chilled.
A separate toilet and washbasin is located next to the utility room.
A large spacious lounge, comfortably furnished on a carpeted floor is situated to the front of the house. It has a traditional open fireplace, a TV with DVD and provides a relaxing space for a chat or watching TV.
There are four bedrooms to sleep up to eight.
Two upstairs bedrooms;
One with a king size double bed, and one with two single beds.
Two downstairs bedrooms;
One with a king size double bed and an en-suite, and one with two single beds.
Bed linen is provided.
The conservatory, extends from the kitchen and dining area. It has cane furniture with a rocking chair, and a TV with video and a mini CD/Radio stereo. The conservatory has south facing views over the garden and patio area.
There are board games, a DVD & Video library, a Panasonic 3DO video game with a selection of games and a portable TV to connect to the games.
The garden and patio area has wooden garden furniture, sun loungers, wooden picnic bench, an umbrella and a chimnea. There is also a gas barbeque
