Aside from being a great and friendly host, Anne provided a beautiful space for us to unwind and relax. The cottage was one of the most beautiful and charming homes I've had the chance to encounter. Quiet and serene, surrounded by stunning views, this gem deserves every 5 star review. We spent our engagement here and plan on coming back again as soon as possible. A huge thank you to Anne and her husband for the wonderful and kind engagement chocolate and wine waiting for us when we arrived. If Donegal is a treasure then Owl Cottage is one of its true gems. You get a taste from the photographs but really you need to see and experience the cottage and its surroundings to understand the wonderful workmanship and love that went into its restoration. It is snug and peaceful, and sits into the side of the hill with what I can only describe as tenderness and kindness. It is a true home.
All of this is thanks to Anne and Willie: they are wonderful hosts with a naturally light and friendly touch. They made us feel so welcome. We will always remember it. And we hope to return some day soon.
