No.1 Breffni Cottages - Rathmullan

Located on an elevated site on the southern approach to Rathmullan village, No.1 Breffni Cottages enjoys panoramic views over Lough Swilly towards Inch Island and the hills of Inishowen. To take full advantage of the view the bedrooms on the upper floor have extra large Velux windows which double as a small balconies as well as making the rooms bright and airy. All the amenities of Rathmullan village, including it's magnificent 2km long sandy beach, are within easy walking distance. In addition there is a large garden area to the side and rear - ideal for children.

The cottage is beautifully furnished throughout with the emphasis on natural materials creating a rural homely feel. The ground floor is open plan and there are sea views from the kitchen, dining area and one of the ground floor bedrooms.

Local Area and Activities

Rathmullan has much to offer whether it is for a holiday packed with activities or just a completely relaxing time. The village has a pier extending into Lough Swilly and it is from here that you can catch the car ferry (June - September) to Buncrana and onwards to the rest of the Inishowen peninsula.

There is a small marina attached to the pier and if you fancy a spot of sea fishing or sightseeing on the Lough there are 2 fully equipped and licensed boats available for hourly or daily hire. While in the village be sure to call and visit the Flight of the Earls Heritage Centre which tells the story of the last days of the great Irish Chieftains, O'Neill and O'Donnell.

  Bedrooms

No.1 Breffni Cottage has four bedrooms and can accommodate up to 8 people. Two of the bedroom are located on the ground floor. The two bedrooms on the upper floor are extra spacious and have the added advantage of large Velux windows which open out to form a small balcony enabling you to fully enjoy the magnificent sea views over Lough Swilly

  Dining Area

The large open plan interior of the cottage includes the dining table and entrance hallway. To the right there is a set of patio doors which lead directly to the large lawn area which surrounds the cottage. The cottage is tastefully furnished throughout to create a homely feel.
