Muckish View - Gortnalake - Creeslough

Muckish View at Gortnalake, near Creeslough, is a neatly presented 3 bedroom holiday home with large gardens to front and side. With 3 double bedrooms, Muckish View can accommodate up to 6 people and is the ideal base for a family holiday in the northwest. The beach and golf course at Dunfanaghy are a 10 min drive away as is Glenveagh National Park. Ards Forest Park is also close by.

Ideal Base for Exploring North West Donegal

The cottage is centrally located among the coastal villages of North West Donegal that lie along the shores of Sheephaven Bay – Downings, Carrigart, Portnablagh, and Dunfanaghy.

There are many restaurants and pubs in this wider area as well as the Shandon Hotel in Marble Hill with its fabulous new Health Spa and pool. The famous Olde Glen Bar and Restaurant is only fifteen minutes’ drive from the cottage.

The area is also well served with craft shops, art galleries, and coffee outlets. Horse riding is available in both Dunfanaghy and Carrigart.

Walking Holidays

Ards Forest Park is only a 7-minute drive from the cottage: It has great forest walks, fabulous beaches, and a picnic site and adventure playground for the children.

The adjacent Ards Friary has a stunning coastal footpath. The wider area around the cottage provides excellent hill-walking for every level of hill-walker

Fishing and Golf in the Area

Fly fishing is on offer in Creeslough 1 mile from the cottage and for the more adventurous there is sea angling from both Downings  and Portnablagh

Keen golfers can enjoy golf at the superb championship links courses at Rosapenna -  the Old Tom Morris Course and the newer Sandy Hills course. There is also a fine 18 hole links course at Dunfanaghy, a 9 hole course near Falcarragh and a par three course in Creeslough itself.

Keen divers can visit Mevagh Irelands largest purpose-built dive center, in Carrigart and experience wreck, dives, scuba diving courses/ sea dives powerboat training, and children’s camp.
