Come home to Mary Kate's Maisonette after exploring all that Donegal North and South has to offer (all within easy driving distance) and sit back and enjoy a glass of wine (or two) with an open fire and enjoy Netflix or a good dvd! "It truly is a home from home"
First-floor apartment located 15 minutes walk from Ballybofey town centre with its cafes, restaurants and pubs. Ballybofey is also home to Balor Arts Centre and the famous McElhinney's Department Store. Ballybofey has a leisure centre and a golf club and the beautiful Drumboe Woods for leisurely walks. The town is a great central location for exploring north and south Donegal. Donegal Town and Letterkenny are less than half an hour's drive and Ardara, Killybegs, Dunfanaghy and Buncrana all less than an hour's drive.
Ballybofey with its twin town Stranorlar have a good choice of shops, bars, hotels and restaurants. Ballybofey has the Balor Arts Centre while the Ballybofey and Stranolar Golf Club is located just outside Stranorlar. The twin towns are the major venues for sporting events in Donegal - including Gaelic football, soccer and athletics. For those attending weddings in the Ballybofey/Stranorlar area, the holiday home is a very relaxing base.
The twin towns are separated by the River Finn. The river rises in Lough Finn in Co. Donegal and flows east through a deep mountain valley to Ballybofey. The river is 40 miles long. Its upper reaches are fast downstream to Ballybofey and provide excellent sport with the fly when conditions are right. The river is famous for salmon. In addition species such as roach, perch, eels and brown trout are caught in the Finn system. Not far from Ballybofey is the famous Salmon Leap at Cloghan - a must-see for visitors! Permits are required for fishing and are available locally

I travel a lot so I'm always looking for interesting places to stay - anything to avoid another carbon copy hotel - and this has got to be one of the best local travel sites I've seen. Plenty of detail, tons of photos, excellent location info and clear pricing - everything I need to make an informed call. Great job and I'll be recommending the site to anyone else I know who's travelling in Donegal.
