Maghery Beach Cottage

Located a stone's throw away from Maghery Beach, play park, Pub, coffee shop and community centre. Organised land and sea activities in the summer months, and mapped hill walking trails. 5km from Dungloe town for all other amenities. Located in the heart of Maghery Village. Maghery is a tranquil base from which to explore the renowned Rosses area and the wider region of West Donegal. This part of Ireland offers an incomparable wealth of scenery, mountains, rivers, lakes and beaches.

This part of Ireland offers an incomparable wealth of scenery, mountains, rivers, lakes and beaches. It is also a haven for fishermen. This is due in no small part to the efforts of the Rosses Angling Association. With over 130 lakes, the area around Maghery and Dungloe is renowned for both lake and river fishing

There are several worthwhile day trips that can be enjoyed from Maghery Beach Cottages. These include nearby Aranmore Island, the Dunlewey Lakeside Centre and the magnificent Glenveagh National Park. Historic Donegal Town and the famous sea cliffs at Slieve League are just an hours drive from the holiday home

• Try some of the excellent beaches in the locality - in addition to Maghery, there are superb beaches at Carrickfinn and Dooey
• Find numerous peaceful roads, coastal walks, country lanes and mountain tracks to walk
• Fish for brown, sea and rainbow trout in some of the 130 lakes in the Rosses area
• Go sea angling from Burtonport or from Kincasslagh
• Take a day trip to Aranmore Island
• Enjoy some on the major festivals in nearby Dungloe, including the internationally renowned Mary from Dungloe Festival
• Visit Leo’s Tavern in Meenaleck – the home of world-renowned Clannad and Enya
• Golf at Narin & Portnoo Golf Club or on the charming 9-hole course on Cruit Island
• Try surfing at the Dooey Surf School based at Dooey Strand
• Go diving from the Inishfree Diving Centre in Burtonport
• Try some of the local award-winning restaurants in the region - Danny Minnies in Annagry, the Lobster Pot in Burtonport
• Visit Dunlewey Lakeside Centre - Facilities include restaurant, tea-room, craft shop, adventure play areas, pets & animals, storytelling, boat trips on Dunlewey Lake, guided tours and weaving demonstrations.
• Climb Errigal Mountain
• Visit Glenveagh National Park, with 16,000 hectares of mountains, lakes, wood and bogs. Glenveagh contains the largest red deer population in Europe. Within the National Park Glenveagh Castle and gardens are well worth a visit on their own

Booking Details

Booking Deposit €200 - with the balance to be paid six weeks before the letting period.

- Check-in 3pm, check out 10.30am
- minimum stay is 2 nights
- no booking or commission fees as you are booking direct with the owner
- Weekends available during mid and low season

High Season: July/Aug/Easter
Mid Season: Mar/Apr/May/Jun/Sep/Oct
Low Season: Jan/Feb/Nov/Dec (except Christmas/New Year)
