Kalede House - Downings

Kalede House is a 4 bedroom holiday home located in the heart of the beach and golf resort of Downings in Co Donegal. This lovely self catering accommodation is located just off the main street and the superb Blue Flag Downings Beach is only a minutes walk away. The holiday home is in very close proximity to the 2 local hotels and all other resort amenities are within easy walking distance.

Great Golf and Wonderful Beaches

The renowned Rosapenna Golf Resort featuring 2 championship links courses if just 1.5km from the front door of Kalede House. Adjacent the golf resort are pitch and putt and footgolf courses. At Rosapenna there is another wonderful beach - Tramore Strand. The Magherabeg Leisure Centre featuring an indoor swimming pool is just over 1km away. You could easily park your car up and leave it untouched for the length of your stay!

Wild Atlantic Way

The holiday home also lies along the route of the Wild Atlantic Way - Ireland's long distance driving route. This route effectively incorporates the renowned Atlantic Drive around the beautifully rugged coastline of the Rosguill Peninsula .The Atlantic Drive has numerous beaches, rocky headlands and secluded coves. A true hidden gem on this route is the stunningly beautiful Murder Hole Beach.

Ideal Walking and Cycling Terrain

The narrow winding roads around the Rosuill Peninsula also makes it ideal terrain for walkers and cyclists. The Singing Pub is a popular stop off on the peninsula and it has a well earned reputation for food and music sessions.

The Fanad Peninsula

The holiday home is well placed to explore the Wild Atlantic Way in north Donegal. The Harry Blaney Bridge near Carrigart opens up the beautiful Fanad Peninsula were scenic highlights include the iconic Fanad Head Lighthouse and the wonderful Blue Flag Beach at Portsalon. Portsalon also has a first class 18 hole golf links course.

North West Donegal

Moving westwards the visitor will find Doe Castle, Ards Forest Park and the dramatic Horn Head Peninsula. There are fine beaches at Ards, Marble Hill, Portnablagh and Dunfanaghy. Dunfanaghy also has a fine 18 hole links golf course

Local Amenities.

With a variety of beaches in and around Downings it is no wonder the area has become a mecca for water sports enthusiasts - sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Sea angling is another popular local activity. There is a Diving Centre in nearby Carrigart as well as several equestrian centres.

Day Trips

The magnificent Glenveagh National Park is just 25km away and makes for a fantastic day trip. Letterkenny - Donegals main shopping town - is 30km away and features a multi-screen cinema, theatre, county library and museum, Arena 7 Adventure Complex, mini zoo, karting centre and the modern Aura leisure centre.

The holiday home has a bright and airy kitchen with tiled floor. Appliances available include electric oven and hobs, microwave, dishwasher and fridgefreezer. A washing machine and tumble dryer are also available. There is an ample supply of cutlery and crockery.

There is an adjacent storage room.

  Dining Area

The main room in the holiday home is bright and spacious and has living and dining areas. The dining area has a table and 6 elegant dining chairs. There is also a comfortable leather sofa.

  Living Area

The focal point of the living area is a lovely open fireplace with an over mantle mirror. The area has a comfortable sofa and for home entertainment there is a 46" Smart tv.

Booking deposit (non-refundable) of €200 per week - with balance to be paid six weeks prior to the letting period.
