Heather View Cottage - Carrigart

Heather View Cottage  is a superb holiday home located on an elevated site  overlooking the popular holiday resort of Carrigart  in North Donegal.

The elevated site of the cottage  provides it with stunning  and uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside and coastline - from Muckish Mountain to  Horn Head to Sheephaven Bay. This beautiful landscape is ever changing with the constantly changing sky.

The cottage can accommodate up to 9 people in 4 very spacious bedrooms - all with good views. Each bedroom has wooden floors and  is furnished with luxury beds.

The open plan ground floor of the cottage  is tastefully decorated and furnished. The relaxing conservatory style dining room enjoys magnificent views. The well designed kitchen area will ensure that your self catering experience in Heather View  will be as stress free as possible.

The Rosguill Peninsula

The cottage is  located on the Rosguill Peninsula on  the North Donegal coastline. This peninsula divides Sheephaven Bay and Mulroy Bay and contains dramatic scenery as well as many fine sandy beaches - including the superb Tra na Rossan strand. The famous Atlantic Drive is a short but very breathtaking road around the  Peninsula. The drive is only about 12km long so you can best appreciate it if you cycle or walk. The walk can be comfortably completed in half a day. The spectacular Lough Salt Drive is also close by.

Local Activities and Amenities

There are  few areas of Ireland which enjoy such an unspoilt environment with a wealth of opportunity for open-air activities. Mountain climbing and hill walking are popular in this spectacular landscape with Muckish, Errigal and the Derryveagh mountains all easily reachable.  Windsurfing, water-skiing, scuba diving, canoeing and sailing are popular activities in the general locality.

For the golf enthusiast  there are four 18 hole courses in the vicinity -  one in Carrigart itself, two at nearby Rosapenna and one in Dunfanaghy. Horse-riding, cycling, and painting are ever popular in this beautiful area. Cycle hire is available locally.

The majestic Glenveagh National Park, the family orientated Dunlewy Lakeside Centre, the beautiful Ards Forest Park  and Letterkenny - Donegal's main town -   are all within an hours drive of the cottage.

The wonderfully spacious kitchen in the holiday home has all the modern appliances necessary to ensure a comfortable self catering experience. The facilities include dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and electric oven and gas hob.

Thel iving area is tastefully furnished and decorated and features a luxury leather suite. An  open fireplace gives the room a cosy feeling. For home entertainment there is a TV and DVD Player.

  Bedrooms

On the first floor of the holiday home there is a spacious triple bedroom and a double bedroom.  Both these rooms are adjacent to a bathroom. On the ground floor there are two more bedrooms - a double and a double with ensuite facilities. All the bedrooms - particularly the two on the first floor - enjoy superb views

  Dining Room

The wonderful conservatory style dining room of the holiday home features an elegant dining table and six chairs. This room enjoys breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside -  including Muckish Mountain, Horn Head and Sheephaven Bay.
