Harbour Cottage - Portnoo

Harbour Cottage has a truly idyllic setting. As the name suggests the cottage is situated in the beautiful Portnoo harbour, which has a small, sheltered golden beach with adjacent rock pools full of crabs and shrimps to give children of all ages hours of endless pleasure. Steps lead from the cottage directly to the beach – you can sit on the patio or sunroom and watch children play on the beach or rocks in a safe environment. 

An Idyllic Harbour Setting

The harbour is enjoyed especially at high tide for swimmers of all ages. Views from the cottage towards Errigal Mountain, Aranmore and Iniskeel Islands and Narin Strand are stunning all year round with the ever changing tides and mountain colours. A family run, well stocked shop is located 2 minutes walk from the cottage. The cottage is also adjacent to the newly opened Rosbeg-Portnoo sailing and watersports club.

The cottage is comfortable and homely. The sunroom/lounge is split level with panoramic views. One level has comfortable sofas and chairs, the other level is a games room with a table tennis table and patio doors leading to the patio and garden. The kitchen is well equipped and the adjacent dining area has a large round table, chairs and padded bench seats to accommodate a large number at meal times! The 4 bedrooms and two shower rooms are locatedin the original part of the cottage. The bedrooms which are basic but comfortable sleep up to 11 people . The garden has a large grassed area and patio with adjacent spacious private car parking. Steps lead from the garden via the rocks to a picturesque and sheltered harbour beach.

• Enjoy some of the many well established festivals in the locality -  the Harvest Fair and Fiddlers Weekend in Glenties and the Cup 'o Tae and Bluegrass Festivals in Ardara
• Explore the Sheskin More Nature Reserve
• Find numerous peaceful roads and country lanes to walk - the Dawros Peninsula is dotted with patchwork fields, small lakes and gentle rolling hills. There are  also 2 Waymarked Ways in South West Donegal  - The Bluestack Way and Slí Colmcille
• Fish on the River Owenea Fishery between Ardara and Glenties
• Take a trip on the Fintown Railway - the only working railway in County Donegal which runs along the shores of  the stunning Lough Finn

The second level acts as a games room and features a table tennis table  as well as a second dining table. From this area there are patio doors leading to the patio and garden

  Kitchen

The kitchen is well equipped and the adjacent dining area has a large round table, chairs and padded bench seats to accommodate a large number at meal time. Appliances available include electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine, tumbler drier and microwave.
