The Green Door - Downings

The Green Door is no more than a 5-minute walk into Downings village and has wonderful views of the sea and Muckish mountain. The house is ideally placed for golfers and for families as it is spacious and sleeps 10. This is a well-loved family holiday home so is not available for hen and stag parties. Smoking is only allowed outside the property.

Local Activities

The holiday home is close to the heart of Downings village and is conveniently placed for golf, fishing ( sea angling and freshwater), hill walks, horse riding and water sports. There are a number of magnificent beaches in the immediate vicinity - including the fabulous Tramore Strand. The nearby Rosapenna Golf Links boasts two renowned 18-hole championship courses. A further 2 km brings you to the picturesque village of Carrigart where you will find an equestrian centre and the Mevagh Dive Centre - Donegal's first purpose-built dive centre.

Downings

The village of  Downings itself  is a very popular tourist resort and fishing port with good restaurants and  lively pubs - including the renowned Harbour Bar. It is situated on the beautiful Rosguill Peninsula. This peninsula divides Mulroy Bay and Sheephaven Bay and contains spectacular scenery

North West Donegal

Within a thirty-minute drive of the cottage there are numerous visitor attractions. These include the majestic Glenveagh National Park and the beautiful Ards Forest Park near Cresslough. The lakeside centre in Dunlewy has something for all the family. In Dunfanaghy there is a workhouse famine museum. Churchill has the famous Glebe House & Gallery as well as the Colmcille Heritage Centre. Letterkenny has all the amenities you would expect to find in a large town - cinemas, museums, theatres, leisure centres, art galleries and excellent shopping. 

So whether you want to enjoy the great outdoors or simply want to unwind and relax, The Green Door provides the ideal holiday base.

Booking Details

Booking deposit euro200 - with the balance to be paid six weeks prior to the letting period

Additional Deposit of euro 100 - paid with booking deposit of 200 will be returned folliwing inspection of the property

- weekends available low and mid season on request

High Season: July/Aug/Easter
