Nestled between the rugged Donegal hills and the dramatic Atlantic Ocean, Gracie's Cottage is the ideal location to disconnect from the stress of modern life. Relax and unwind with a seat by the fire while you immerse yourself in the peace and tranquility of this humble cottage.
Gracie's is the ideal location to explore the Wild Atlantic Way, the Causeway Coast and the Inishowen Peninsula which offers some breathtaking scenery and stunning beaches, the nearest of which is only a 20 min walk away.
Culdaffs popularity as a family holiday destination is mainly down to its wonderful Blue Flag Beach which faces out to the Atlantic Ocean The beach is about 1km in length, and lies between Dunmore Head to the east and the little fishing harbour known as Bunagee. It is a mecca for watersports enthusiasts and is now a well established surfing destination. Dolphins are frequent visitors to the waters off the beach
The village of Culdaff and its beach is a five-minute drive away. The village itself is visually charming, its present layout dating back to the 18th century. McGrorys is a well-known family-run pub in Culdaff, established in 1924, noted for its fine food, traditional Irish music and warm welcome. Additionally, the village features McGuinness' Bar and The Culdaff Arms, both of which regularly host live entertainment.
Non-water activities in the area can be as diversified as tennis, paint-balling, football, hill walking, horse riding, and golf...to mention a few.
Golfers are well catered for, with the magnificent two links courses at Ballyliffin, and other courses at Buncrana, Greencastle, Redcastle and Culmore in Derry - all within a half-hour drive.
On the way to Ballyliffin, and just before the golf course, a turn-off to the Isle of Doagh, will take one to the Famine Village. It is an outdoor museum that tells the story of life in the area from the Famine back in the 1840s, to the present day. Different to any other tourist attraction in Ireland the Famine Village depicts life in Ireland as it was, with models and displays of structures and scenes representing the time.

We had a really enjoyable week at Grace's Cottage which coincided with warm sunny weather which made all the difference. It was an excellent location just to chill out with the only sounds being the odd mooing of a cow, bleeting of a sheep, tweeting of a bird or a buzz of a bee by the flowers. The mobile signal was poor which added to our enjoymentas our phones weren't going ping every few minutes. The cottage was clean and comfortable and at 150 year old was full ofcharacter. The directions to the cottage were spot on provided your sums were right in converting kilometres to miles whilst the location was within easy reach of a number of beaches. John left plenty of leaflets detailing points of interest within easy reach. We enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in reccommending the cottage for a quiet stay just to get away from it all.
