From the house there are panoramic views of the surrounding countryside while the many attractions of Donegal Town, including the Waterbus and Castle, are a 5 min drive away. Hollyberry Lodge is ideal as a touring base for south Donegal and its peaceful rural setting will help you relax and unwind.

Donegal Town

Donegal Town is high on a list of places to visit in Ireland. It was home to both the O Donnell Clan (1200-1600 AD) and the Four Masters, the most famous and renowned of all Irish scholars. Daily tours of Donegal castle are available in the summer. A tour of the Donegal Coastline can be appreciated onboard the local Waterbus. The picturesque Lough Eske and Eas Dún Falls are within a short drive of the town with stunning views of the Bluestack Mountains.

South Donegal

For the golfer the holiday home is centrally situated for playing the great links courses of south Donegal including the Donegal Golf Club at nearby Murvagh and at Bundoran. Those who simply want to enjoy the natural beauty of this part of Ireland will be spoilt for choice - from the windswept St. John’s peninsula to the spectacular sea cliffs at Slieve League and from the majestic Blue Stack Mountains to the beautiful beaches at Murvagh, Rossnowlagh and Bundoran. Lovers of good food will not be disappointed either - there are a number of excellent restaurants throughout the locality including the award winning Coxtown Manor which is a mere 10 min drive away. Within a half hours drive you also have the wonderful ‘Yeats Country’ in Sligo and the majestic Fermanagh Lakelands.

Local Attractions and Amenities

• Donegal Town is of great historical interest and has numerous tourist attractions. Donegal Castle stands beside The Diamond, overlooking the River Eske. Guided historical tours of Donegal Town take place on a daily basis during the summer and the Waterbus takes you around Donegal Bay. The ruins of Donegal Abbey, situated on the bay, are open to the public.

• Golf - superb 18 hole links championship courses are located at nearby Murvagh and at Bundoran (22km)

• Surfing Nearby Rossnowlagh has some of the best surfing in the world and the European Championships have been held here a number of times

• Walking Many well-signed walks can be enjoyed in the nearby Blue Stack Mountains .

• Crafts- visit the wonderful Craft Village in Donegal Town

• Horse-Riding There are several horse-riding and trekking establishments in the area where you can enjoy an afternoon on horseback, riding through some of Ireland\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s most beautiful scenery.

• Cycling South Donegal abounds with small, winding roads which offer spectacular views around every corner and are ideal for cycling.

• Angling - coarse and sea angling with sea angling boats available for local chartering.

The sunroom is adjacent to the living room and provides extra space on the ground floor. Double patio doors lead through to the rear patio area and garden.

  Bedrooms

Hollyberry Lodge has 4 ensuite bedrooms to sleep up to 8 people. The main bedroom features a jacuzzi bath. In addition, there is a bathroom on the ground floor. All bed linen and towels are supplied and a cot is available on request.

Booking Details

Booking deposit (non- refundable) of €300 - with balance to be paid 8weeks prior to letting period . ( 50 % of balance charged in case of no show or cancelled within 8 weeks prior to arrival ).
