Carson View - Downings

Carson View is a superb modern holiday home situated just outside the charming village of Downings in North West Donegal. The holiday home is on an elevated site and enjoys wonderful views of the sea through large floor-to-ceiling windows.

The Holiday Home

This semi-detached house has a living space with a kitchen, dining area for six, and a sitting area Amenities include an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer. Outside, there is a terrace with furniture and off-road parking for two cars. Within 0.5 miles, there is a shop, within 0.3, a pub, and within 0.4, the coast. Sorry, smoking is not permitted. fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.

Local Activities

The holiday home is 500m from Downings village and is conveniently placed for golf, fishing ( sea angling and freshwater), hill walks, horse riding and water sports. There are a number of magnificent beaches in the immediate vicinity - including the fabulous Tramore Strand. The nearby Rosapenna Golf Links boasts two renowned 18-hole championship courses. A further 3 km brings you to the picturesque village of Carrigart where you will find an equestrian centre and the Mevagh Dive Centre - Donegal's first purpose-built dive centre.

Downings

The village of  Downings itself  is a very popular tourist resort and fishing port with good restaurants and  lively pubs - including the renowned Harbour Bar. It is situated on the beautiful Rosquil Peninsula. This peninsula divides Mulroy Bay and Sheephaven Bay and contains spectacular scenery

North West Donegal

Within a thirty-minute drive of the cottage there are numerous visitor attractions. These include the majestic Glenveagh National Park and the beautiful Ards Forest Park near Cresslough. The lakeside centre in Dunlewy has something for all the family. In Dunfanaghy there is a workhouse famine museum. Churchill has the famous Glebe House & Gallery as well as the Colmcille Heritage Centre. Letterkenny has all the amenities you would expect to find in a large town - cinemas, museums, theatres, leisure centres, art galleries and excellent shopping. 

So whether you want to enjoy the great outdoors or simply want to unwind and relax - Carson View provides the ideal holiday base.
