Dunfanaghy Golf Club is an 18-hole true links course laid out in 1905 by six times winner of the British Open, Mr Harry Vardon. It is situated  along the beautiful north-west coast of County Donegal and offers year-round golfing.

Being one of only 200 links courses world wide, Dunfanaghy is easily walked but also offers a superb golfing challenge. The course has spectacular views of Horn Head, Sheephaven Bay, nearby beaches, headlands, harbours and the dramatic Muckish Mountain. The greens are consistently rated among the best in Ireland and the course is sand-based and free-draining, making it playable all year round.

Dunfanaghy is a club that is proud to list two Irish Close champions and one North of Ireland Open champion, over the last decade. 2006 saw the 100th year of Dunfanaghy Golf Club. Dunfanaghy extended and refurbished their clubhouse in 2002. In the clubhouse you will see pictures of Ryder Cup hero Paul McGinley, who was a member of the club and now an honoury member and has family connections with this beautiful part of Donegal. The visitor is always extended a warm Donegal welcome on this traditional links course.

Dunfnaghy is highly recommended for all but the most serious of golf tours. Traditional and unpretentious, it is a good golf course and has simply stunning scenery. It will eat a slice alive but otherwise should provide the chance for a respectable score. Green fees are kept at very competitive levels.
