Beach View Cottage is situated off a quiet road in the centre of Ballyliffin. The shops, hotels and pubs in the town are all within a 5 minute  walking distance, and the lovely Pollan beach is just a mile away. A 6 minute drive brings you to the well known  Ballyliffin Golf Club, where a choice of 2 links are available, arguably one of Irelands best courses.

Local Attractions

Nearby, on the Isle of Doagh on the other side of the golf course, is the Doagh Famine Village. - A look back at Irish history with similarities happening throughout the world today. - well worth a visit, and for children, particularly in December, when it transforms into Santas Island. Because of its popularity at this time, it would be wise to book early.

If one has not come for the golf, perhaps Hill-walking is the preferred activity, and one is perfectly situated here, - You need to only put on your gear and choose where to go, without having to drive there first. The area is surrounded by hills, and there are also fabulous coastal or beach walks, with nearby Pollan Beach and the Five Finger Strand.

Near Clonmany, about 5km away, one can view the lovely Glenevin waterfall after a leisurely ramble on a recently restored pathway.
There are many and varied activities available to suit all, but the Inishowen Peninsula, with its spectacular scenery, is a prime area for sight seeing.

Surrounding Area

Whether by car, cycle, or on foot. The Inishowen 100 is the recommended route to take around the peninsula, its name comes from its approximate length of 100km. You will travel through towns and villages, over hills and passes, along coastal cliffs, through areas of forest or rugged bog-land, - but you will be compelled to stop several times along the way, in order to take in and enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings, or to visit the local attractions.

What they say

I travel a lot so I'm always looking for interesting places to stay - anything to avoid another carbon copy hotel - and this has got to be one of the best local travel sites I've seen. Plenty of detail, tons of photos, excellent location info and clear pricing - everything I need to make an informed call. Great job and I'll be recommending the site to anyone else I know who's travelling in Donegal.
