Beach House is just 150 meters from the coast and enjoys wonderful views over Donegal Bay towards the Dartry Mountains that rise above Bundoran. It is a modern 4 bedroom holiday home located on beautiful Kildoney Point - a small headland half way between the surfing resort of Rossnowlagh and the historic town of Ballyshannon in South Donegal.
The holiday home is located in a small development of just 4 houses. There are 4 spacious bedrooms - 3 of which are ensuite. The ground floor has a living room with open fireplace. Double doors lead to an open plan kitchen, dining and living space which enjoys superb sea views. Glass patio doors lead out to a large enclosed fenced decking area. In fine weather the decking area can be used as a second dining area or for simply relaxing and enjoying the superb coastal views. It is also a safe enclosed play area for small children.
To the front of the house there is a large lawn. The water supply is from a natural spring and a water well on the lawn is a physical reminder of this (the well is currently not linked up).
A 250 metre walk from the house brings you down to the Creevy Coastal Path - a 10km coastal walk between Ballyshannon and Rossnowlagh. To the south this well signed path follows the cliff tops and shoreline to the Erne Estuary - a wonderful habitat for for wildlife and birdlife. In this direction the walk passes the ruins of Kilbarron Castle, home of Michael O'Cleary, and the Four Masters. Going north towards Rossnowlagh the path enjoys panoramic views over Donegal Bay towards St. John's Point and Slieve League. Just 2 km in the northerly direction the walk passes through the quaint Creevy Pier and harbour - a popular venue for watersports and sea angling.
From Beach House’s idyllic and tranquil setting on Kildoney Point it is less than a 5km journey to the popular surf and beach resort of Rossnowlagh. Rossnowlagh offers a Blue Flag Beach with life guard patrols in the summer months. However it is best known as one of the premier surfing destinations in Ireland. Equipment can be hired from several surf clubs located in the area. This vibrant seaside resort has a number of fine restaurants including the Smugglers Creek, the Gaslight and the Sand House Hotel.
5km south east of the holiday home is Ballyshannon, the oldest town in Ireland. This historic town is located at the point where the mighty Erne system meets the sea. Long famous for its salmon fishing, Ballyshannon was a shipping port of some significance in times gone by. Local Poet William Allingham referred to it in song as the "the friendly place, the kindly spot"
Beach House is the ideal base for exploring Donegal and the 3 other countries on its doorstep - Sligo, Leitrim and Fermanagh. Within an hours dive of the holiday home the visitor will find historic Donegal Town, the Marble Arch Caves, the Ulster American Folk Park, Belleek Pottery, Yeats Country, Sligo Town, Mullaghmore, Lissadell House and the Fermanagh Lakelands. The fabulous new Lough Erne Golf Resort is only 40 minutes drive away. With recent access improvements the magnificent Slieve League Cliffs in South West Donegal are proving a major tourist attraction.
The living room is located to the front of the house and overlooks the large front lawn. It is comfortably furnished and has an open fireplace. For home entertainment there is a flat screen tv and dvd player with a small dvd library. Double doors lead to the open plan area.
