Ards Forest Cottage is a truly luxurious modern holiday home located on the southern edge of the magnificent Ards Forest Park just outside the village of Creeslough in North West Donegal. The holiday home is located on an elevated site and enjoys superb panoramic views of Sheephaven Bay and the Rosguill Peninsula.
The holiday home has top class accommodation for up to 11 people. The are 5 spacious bedrooms - 3 of which are ensuite. The open plan ground floor of this deluxe holiday home provides a truly special living space. The area has been carefully designed to make maximum use of natural sunlight - and to enable the visitor to enjoy the stunning vista outside. An especially attractive feature is the existence of two distinct living areas. - the first is a traditional style living area, the second is a wonderful conservatory style living room.
The holiday home is literally a stones throw from the wonderful Ards Forest Park. This park covers approximately 480 hectares (1200 acres) and includes a variety of habitats, among them sand dunes, beaches, salt marshes, salt water lakes, rock face and, of course, mature coniferous and deciduous woodlands. With such a variety of landscapes, it is possible to spend many hours exploring this wonderful natural amenity. The sea is one of the real treasures of this forest park and there are several trails - the Binngorm trail, the Salt Marsh Trail and the Sand Dune Trail - which offer the hiker an opportunity to experience it in all its facets. There are a large number of trails in this park giving the walker the opportunity to explore a variety of habitats from foreshore and sand dunes to semi natural oak woodlands on rock outcrops. By “stitching together” a number of trails, it is possible to hike for 5/6 hours on forest tracks and trails, taking in the full circuit of the park. The opportunities are endless.
In addition to forest walks the area around Ards Forest Cottage is ideal hill walking terrain. Indeed one of the hardest long walks in the country is the “Glover Highlander Walk” The first peak on the route is the nearby Muckish Mountain and the last is Errigal and it takes in all intervening summits.
There are also a number of magnificent beaches in this beautiful part of Donegal - Ards, Marble Hill, Tramore and Killahoey. Overlooking Marble Hill Strand is the superb new Shandon Hotel Spa and Wellness Centre. This modern Spa has a hydrotherapy floor and 8 treatment rooms.
The nearby village of Creeslough is located near the shores of Sheephaven Bay and is surrounded by spectacular coastal and mountain scenery. Creeslough is centrally located among the main holiday resorts on the North Donegal coastline – Portnablagh, Dunfanaghy, Downings and Carrigart. In these seaside villages there are lively pubs and a good choice of restaurants. Windsurfing, water-skiing, scuba diving, sea angling and golf are all available in this region.

Facilities available in the superb modern fitted kitchen include electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and gas hob. There is a small dining table and 4 chairs for informal dining. Double doors lead out to a large dining area which forms part of the open plan ground floor. This dining area enjoys superb views.
The holiday home also has a separate utility room which features a washing machine and tumble dryer.

This bedroom has excellent ensuite facilities and a walk-in wardrobe. Also on the first floor there is a roomy double bedroom with an ensuite shower. The first floor accommodation is completed by a large bedroom with a double and single bed. Again this room enjoys superb views over the coastline at Ards
On the ground floor there are two more bedrooms - an ensuite double room to the front of the house and a twin room to the rear. A stylish bathroom with bath and separate shower is also located on the ground floor

The fabulous conservatory style living room on the ground floor has a superb stone fireplace, luxury leather suite and a walnut hardwood floor. We had a really great time in Donegal. the house has been lovely to come home to every evening. comfortable and welcoming, a home from home. the jam and scones were truly delicious. The children loved the reclining chairs!
