Kelly Kottage Rathmullan

Kelly Kottage at Anny Far and Near is a lovely 3 bedroom holiday home located along the beautiful coast road between the popular family holiday resorts of Rathmullan and Portsalon in North Donegal.  Nestled into a wooded hillside the cottage enjoys stunning panoramic views over Lough Swilly towards the Inishowen Hills.

Rathmullan

The holiday home is a 5 minute drive north of Rathmullan which has 2 fine sandy beaches. Amenities in Rathmullan include a shorefront childrens playground, putting green, tennis court, lively pubs, several cafes and restaurants as well as antique and bric a brac shops.

In recent years Rathmullan has become a popular watersports centre were sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding lessons are available during the holiday season. There are also two charter boats based at the local pier offering fishing and sightseeing trips on Lough Swilly.

Secluded Beaches

Just 2.5km from the holiday home is Otway Golf Club – a very scenic 9 hole golf course.  Along the golf course are 2 secluded sandy beaches overlooked by a Martello Tower. Even closer to the holiday home is the White Strand Beach and Newbridge Breakwater Harbour

Portsalon

A 12km journey northwards along the spectacular Knockalla coast road bring you to the beach and golf resort of Portsalon. Portsalon Blue Flag Beach is one of the finest beaches in Donegal and indeed Ireland. The wonderful Portsalon Golf Club which runs along much of the length of the beach is also one of the top 18 hole links courses in the North West. At the quaint harbour in Portsalon there is a pub, restaurant and watersports centre.

Walking

The winding coastal roads and inland mountain tracks that surround the holiday home provide ideal walking terrain for the keen rambler.  A popular walk is the Knockalla Ridge walk. This walk along the top of nearby  Knockalla Mountain offers outstanding views of Ballymastoker Bay, Lough Swilly and the hills of the Fanad and Inishowen Peninsulas

Wild Atlantic Way

The holiday home lies along the route of the Wild Atlantic Way – Irelands long distance scenic driving route. 22km north of the holiday home is one of the Signature Points on this route – Fanad Head Lighthouse. Tours of this iconic lighthouse are available daily during the holiday season. During the summer season there is also a ferry between Rathmullan and Buncrana which provides easy access to the Inishowen Peninsula.

Day Trips

A number of recommended day trips from the holiday home include Fanad Light House, Knockalla coast road drive, the magnificent Glenveagh National Park, the historic Walled City of Derry, Oakfield Park in Raphoe and a tour of the Inishowen Peninsula (via the ferry in Rathmullan)

The bright living room in the holiday home has a large window to take full advantage of the wonderful views of Lough Swilly outside. The room is comfortably furnished and has an open fireplace. For home entertainment there is a Smart TV with highspeed fibre broadband avaialble. 

  Kitchen Area

The lovely kitchen and dining area in the holiday home has a real seaside fell to it.  Appilances available in the kitchen include cooker, microwave, dishwasher, a George Foreman Grill and an American style fridge freezer.
The kitchen sink window overllooks Lough Swilly.
A washing machine is also available.

  Dining Area

The dining area has a table and 6 chairs which are positioned by a window offering lovely views of Lough Swilly and the Inishowen Hills.

Booking deposit of €100 per week - with balance to be paid six weeks prior to the letting period.
