Seaview Cottage Downings - Downings Donegal Ireland

2 Seaview Cottage is a spacious 4 bedroom detached holiday home on an elevated site just over 2km north of the popular beach and golf resort of Downings in North Donegal.  The holiday home is centrally located on the stunning Rosguill Peninsula – the road around this peninsula is the renowned Atlantic Drive which is now part of Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way.

Seaview Cottage is not currently available to Hen/Stag bookings, or any such group occasions. Please call before booking.

A Spacious Modern Holiday Home

The holiday home sleeps 8 very comfortably, a folding bed can be arranged. Both the living room and kitchen/dining area are bright and spacious and have patio doors out to the large back garden with decking and Brick built BBQ. Seaview enjoys lovely views of Muckish Mountains, Marble Hill, Dunfanaghy, Horn Head and Tory Island

Leisure Centre Nearby

From the front door of the holiday home it is a short walk to Stella Maris Church while a bit further down the hill is the Magherabeg Leisure Centre which features a swimming pool, gym and childrens soft play kingdom.

Downings

The town of Downings is only a 2 minute drive down the hill, where you can enjoy 2 beautiful beaches -  Downings and Tramore Strand. These beaches are a mecca for water sports enthusiasts – wind surfers, kayakers, paddle boarders and sailors. Lessons in various water sports are available and equipment is available for hire. Downings town beach, allows cars to park on the beach in a designated area, which is handy if you have small children. It is a Blue Flag beach with Lifeguards in attendance during the summer season.

There are several places to eat including The Beach Hotel, The Downings Bay Hotel, Gallery Pizza/Burger, ice cream parlour, to name a few. There are bars in the hotels as well as the Tramore Inn, the Wee Bar and of course the famous Harbour Bar.

The Rosapenna Golf Resort

Only a few hundred meters outside the town, are the championship golf courses of Old Tom Morris and Sandy Hills at Rosapenna. Where even if you are not a golfer, make sure you book yourself a fabulous Sunday lunch in the Vardon Restaurant

The Wild Atlantic Way

The holiday home is a great base to explore the Wild Atlantic Way in north Donegal – along with Rosguill the neighbouring peninsulas of Fanad and Horn Head offer dramatic coastal scenery and numerous unspoilt beaches.  Within easy driving of the holiday home there a number of beautiful beaches including Tra na Rossan, Melmore and the renowned Murder Hole Beach.  The Rosguill Peninsula is one of the best places in Ireland to see the Northern Lights

Ideal Walking Terrain

Rosguill is also ideal walking terrain for the keen rambler with winding coastal roads and inland mountain tracks. There are also numerous walking trails in the wonderful  Ards Forest Park (20km).  The Donegal Highlands are also within easy driving distance and offer a variety of hill climbs

Seaview Cottage Downings affords a restful getaway for the keen walker, photographer, artist or angler. It is also a tranquil base from which to enjoy the many tourist amenities in the vibrant beach and golf resort of Downings.

The holiday home has a bright and spacious living room with an open fireplace. It is furnished with a 3 seater sofa, one 2 seater sofa, 1 armchairs and foot stool. There is a flatscreen tv and a dvd-cd player along with a large selection of dvds and cds.
Glass patio doors lead from the living area to a large garden with Decking, BBQ and outside seating area and stunningly beautiful views of Muckish Mountains, Marble Hill, Dunfanaghy, Horn Head and Tory Island.

  Kitchen

The holiday home has a bright modern kitchen with adjacent dining area. Appliances available in the kitchen include electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster.  A washing machine is also available.

  Dining Area

The bright dining area has a large dining table and 8 comfortable chairs. A breakfast counter between the kitchen and dining area features 2 high stools.
Large patio doors lead from the dining area to the rear garden with lovely coastal views. The garden has a large grass area and decking area with a circular picnic bench and brick built BBQ.

Tariff

Booking Details

Booking deposit (non-refundable) of euro100 per week, to be paid to confirm booking.

Balance to be paid six weeks prior to the letting period.

• rental Sat – Sat except by special arrangement
• Damage Deposit: €200 damage deposit is required via bank transfer or Revolut, this will be returned to your bank account within 4 working days if the property is left clean and damage free, as upon your arrival.
• All guests may cancel free of charge up to 24 hours after their booking is confirmed, provided their stay is at least 60 days away.
• If a guest cancels after this cooling-off period, they can still receive 50% refund of the total amount paid if they cancel at least four weeks before check-in.
