16 Patrick's Hill is a modern holiday home with a superb location in the popular seaside resort of Dunfanaghy in north west Donegal. This stylish self catering accommodation is a few minutes walk from Dunfanaghy Golf Club, Killahoey Blue Flag Beach and the centre of Dunfanaghy village itself.
The cottage is a modern build in a traditional style with pine and tile floors, a large stone fireplace (with a wood burning stove) and a modern kitchen . It is tastefully furnished and decorated throughout in keeping with the traditional and modern blended style.
The cottage can accommodate up to 8 people in 4 bedrooms. Each bedroom is furnished with luxury oak beds and good quality duvets and linen. The large open plan ground floor of the cottage combines the ease of modern living with comfort.
The area around Dunfanaghy is one of the most beautiful in Ireland and the location enables easy access to Horn Head, some of the finest walks and beaches around and the spectacular indented Donegal coastline.
The local landscape changes in response to seasons and daily weather. In the right light at the right time the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
During the holiday season Dunfanaghy is a vibrant resort with a good choice of cafes, craft shops, art galleries and restaurants including the award winning Mill restaurant.
The lively pubs have music sessions on a regular basis. Dunfanaghy can also claim to be the festival capital of north Donegal. Annual events include the St Patrick’s Day Parade, a Seafood Festival, the August Fair, the Dunfanaghy Jazz & Blues Festival and the Halloween Madness festival.
The superb Blue Flag Killahoey beach is literally on the doorstep of the holiday home. This 3km long beach stretches from the harbour in Dunfanaghy village almost all the way to the neighbouring resort of Portnablagh – just a small headland separates Killahoey beach from the beach and quaint harbour at Portnablagh.
A few kilometres beyond Portnablagh there is another wonderful beach – Marble Hill. All three beaches are popular for swimming, walking and watersports. Surfing takes place at Killahoey and Marble Hill with a surf school based in Dunfanaghy. Running along the length of Killahoey beach is Dunfanaghy Golf Club – a challenging and very scenic 18 hole links golf course.
Dunfanaghy is blessed with a wonderfully scenic setting. The holiday resort is situated on the western shores of Sheephaven Bay with the dramatic Horn Head Peninsula lying just to the north. The iconic Muckish Mountain is ever present in the background.
There are three small fishing lakes in the immediate vicinity of the village while Ards Forest Park is just 7km away. The superb Tramore Strand is a totally unspoilt beach on the western side of Horn Head – an ideal place for a bracing walk.
Indeed the entire region around Dunfanaghy is a walker’s paradise with a great variety of coastal, mountain and forest walking trails. Dunfanaghy also lies along the route of Irelands Wild Atlantic Way.
The holiday home has a bright living room incorporating a dining area. The living room has comfortable sofa and armchair furniture and features an open fireplace. There is a tv and dvd player as well as a small dvd library.
The dining area has a sturdy table and 6 dining chairs.
The modern kitchen has fitted storage units and a tiled floor. Appliances available include electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher as well as a washing machine.

I travel a lot so I'm always looking for interesting places to stay - anything to avoid another carbon copy hotel - and this has got to be one of the best local travel sites I've seen. Plenty of detail, tons of photos, excellent location info and clear pricing - everything I need to make an informed call. Great job and I'll be recommending the site to anyone else I know who's travelling in Donegal.
