Ballyliffin

Ballyliffin is located in north Inishowen and has one of the finest golf courses in the country. The village has three hotels, a shop and Post Office while a short walk takes you to the spectacular Pollan Strand with its powerful Atlantic waves. Buncrana

Buncrana is located at the mouth of the Crana River on the east bank of Lough Swilly. The town’s Irish name means “Foot of the River Crana” and one of its delights is the walk under beech, maple and lime trees beside the brown waters of the River Crana. Burt

The villages of Burt and Bridgend are located in the fertile plain that stretches from Derry City and Lough Foyle to Inch Island and Lough Swilly. Carndonagh

Carndonagh is the main town of northern Inishowen and is an important educational and shopping centre. The local area has been an ecclesiastical centre of note for many centuries. Best known of its historical and archaeological remains is the 7th century Donagh Cross, located along the western approach to the town. Not far away are the attractive small towns or villages of Malin and Culdaff. Malin is a past winner of the title of Ireland’s tidiest town.   view holiday homes

Culdaff

Culdaff is located 8km north of Carndonagh to the north of the Inishowen peninsula. The village is visually charming and its present design dates from the 18th century. Clonmany

Clonmany is located along in the northern part of Inishowen and is ideal as a base for touring the peninsula and beyond to the Giant’s Causeway via the car ferry service at Greencastle. Fahan

Fahan is located in County Donegal, 8 miles from the historic city of Derry, on the east bank of Lough Swilly. Nestled at the base of the Inishowen hills and overlooking the broad expanse of the Lough the village makes the base for a touring holiday of Donegal. Glengad

Glengad is a traditional fishing village located some 10 miles from Ireland’s most northerly point, Malin Head. Greencastle

Greencastle, a lovely little seaside-fishing village, is situated on the east side of the Inishowen Peninsula, at the narrow mouth of Lough Foyle looking towards Magilligan Point. A car ferry connects the village with north County Derry and from there it’s a relatively short drive to the Giant’s Causeway. Inch island

Inch Island is connected to the mainland by a causeway and is largely fertile on it’s eastern side while its western side has steep mountain sides and a a coastline punctuated by little harbours and a sandy beaches. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is largely undiscovered as a holiday destination within Donegal. Malin

Malin is one of the most northerly villages in Ireland and has in the recent past been the recipient of the coveted accolade of “Ireland’s Tidiest Town” not once, but twice! The village is laid out along each side of a triangular shaped green area, beautifully decorated by flower beds and bordered by trees. Malin Head

Malin Head; though not actually a town, has become a fairly large community, steadily growing as more new houses are being built. It has always been a strategically important part of the country, where observation posts and signal towers were erected to keep an eye on shipping movements passing the northern coast. Moville

Moville is located on the banks of Lough Foyle and is only a 30 min drive from the historic city of Derry. One of Donegal’s heritage towns, Moville takes it’s name from the Irish Maghbile, which means “Plain of the Ancient Tree”. Muff

Muff (Irish: Magh) is a small town in County Donegal in the northwest of Ireland and is regarded as the gateway to Ireland’s most northerly peninsula, Inishowen..
